Dr. Alexander, a renowned academic neurosurgeon, spent 54 years honing his scientific worldview. He thought he knew how the brain and mind worked. A transcendental Near-Death Experience (NDE), in which he was driven to the brink of death and spent a week deep in coma from an inexplicable brain infection, changed all of that – completely!

Due to his lifetime spent studying neuroscience, Dr. Alexander’s miraculous near-death experience provides dramatic proof of the reality of life beyond death.  Prolonged severe bacterial meningitis is a perfect model of human death, because of its selective destruction of the human part of the brain (the outer surface, or “neocortex”).  However, virtually no one who is comatose for a week due to acute bacterial meningitis lives to tell the tale.  Dr. Alexander is miraculously blessed, indeed!

As he first returned from coma, all memories from his prior life, including knowledge of his loved ones, of humans and our universe, were gone.  Even words, and his very faculty of language, were initially absent.  His memories from deep within coma were a patchwork quilt, a stream of consciousness, without obvious temporal flow and order.  He recalled a blend of the monotonous “Earthworm’s Eye View” of the world, and a richly vivid, highly interactive and awe-provoking realm of brilliant beauty (the “Alternate Dimension”).  Deep in “The Core”, he (as Universal Consciousness) was shown fundamental truths of the Universe by the Omnisapient (or Creator, or Source, or God) and the Orb of Light.

He spent the first two months of his recovery writing down the memories from his incredible journey, untainted by discussions with those who had been around him while he was deep in coma, on the brink of death.  He read nothing of the near-death literature, or of physics or cosmology, until all of his memories from coma were safely recorded.

The amazing awe of the initial experience was mildly blunted by the recoil of his returning neuroscientific knowledge, as his brain healed over the first few weeks after coma. "It can't have happened, even if it was more real than anything ever before!"

He was then amazed by the commonality of his experience with others as he read the near-death experience literature.  The awe he felt initially was soon eclipsed by the numbing full force shock as he recognized the clever clues from his recollections proving that current brain science couldn’t explain his experience.  It must have occurred outside of his brain.

The ramifications are world-changing!

The keys to comprehending the unprecedented power of his experience involve his explanation of the fundamental nature of consciousness, and of the critical revelations derived from the century-old enigma surrounding the interpretation of quantum mechanics.  That most vexing of mysteries, even more pronounced as increasingly refined experiments have upheld the reality of quantum physics, is finally forcing rigorous scientists to address the shocking nature of the relation of reality and consciousness, and what that reveals about the fundamental nature of our existence.

Revelations from his odyssey bear not only on our understanding of life after life, but also on paranormal phenomena (Out of body experiences, remote viewing, extrasensory perception, etc.), the interpretation of dreams, particularly lucide dreaming, and the mechanism of the brain-mind relationship, as well as on an understanding of the prospects for reincarnation of the human soul.
